Companies are now paying Adblock to be whitelisted. From Adblock’s point of view, this is a genius marketing plan. First you convince all of the consumers that you’re on their side by providing a program that eliminates advertisements from your Internet browser. Then, you quietly make deals with companies so that certain ads get through the Adblock wall if they pay to play. Of course, it’s basically destroying the whole point of downloading Adblock in the first place, but don’t worry about that. If Adblock whitelists too many companies then a new ad blocking software will replace them.
